About Book Comes Home by Rob Sanders:
Meet Book — a spirited, well-loved volume who lives happily on the library shelf, eager for children to browse, borrow, and revisit her over and over again. She loves being read, passed around, sparking ideas and joy. That is, until one day she finds herself taken away from her cozy home on the shelf — she’s banned.
From Book’s point of view, we follow her journey (and heartbreak) as she’s removed, silenced, and kept from her readers. But even in absence, her memory lives on in the hearts of the children who once checked her out. Ultimately the story is a gentle, emotional plea for the power of reading, for voices not to be silenced, and for books to find their way back home where they belong.
