Play Me a Story - In the Tall, Tall Grass - BUGS! 5/1/24

Join us as we immerse the littlest of readers (18 months to 4 yrs old) and their grown-ups in story and play to foster their love for reading while igniting their early literacy skills. This one-hour class (9:30-10:30am) will feature a read-aloud of Denise Fleming's In the Tall, Tall Grass, followed by intentional play experiences tailored to extend the theme and content of the story to build connections to the world. Experiences will include sensory tables, group artwork, building with blocks, light table creations, live critters to view up close with magnifying glasses, additional books to read, and story retelling with felt board story pieces. We will host this class in the party room at Run+Play Kids Cafe. After our time together, you can sign up for a two-hour play session for an additional $10 at Run+Play Kid's Cafe. Bring a lunch from home, or make it easy and order some yummy drinks and bites to eat from Bean Wandering. We've got your whole morning planned!

Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow enough time to come in, remove your shoes at the entryway of the play space, wash hands in the rear bathrooms or in the party room, and join us in our gathering area at 9:30am. Any belongings you may have can be left right outside of the room we will gather in. Our teachers will be there to greet you and make sure you find the space! Due to class size and space, we ask for each child to attend with only one grown-up. We can't wait to spend the morning in story & play with you!
