About the event
This summer reading club is for children entering kindergarten & their grown-ups to gather once a week for 5 weeks, delighting in the magic of shared reading while cultivating the essential skills for embarking on the literary adventures awaiting them next year in kindergarten!
Dates: Saturdays at 9:00 AM in June, ending July 5th (June 7, 14, 21, 28, July 5)
Budding readers will receive 6 books, letter/phonemic games, alphabet letter cards, and manipulatives to use at home throughout the 5 weeks of this reading club . Classes will be held at The Story Garden, a children's bookstore, while it is closed to the public, to minimize distractions and create an environment conducive to reading and learning.
About the Teachers:
Carol Poulson holds a master’s degree in elementary education and is extensively trained in the Orton-Gillingham reading approach. She has provided intensive reading instruction with students in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area…
